Systems Café: GIS, Spatial Analysis and Childhood Obesity

Please join us for the Johns Hopkins Global Center on Childhood Obesity (JHGCCO) March Systems Café. Dr. Ilir Bejleri will be presenting his research experience regarding GIS and childhood obesity and discussing collaboration with Center members. This presentation was rescheduled from the December 2012 Systems Café.

Ilir BejleriDr. Bejleri is an Associate Professor  in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at University of Florida. He has expertise in design and development of GIS databases and geospatial analysis information systems in the areas of health, build environment and transportation. He directed the development of a childhood obesity national GIS-enhanced prototype to support childhood obesity prevention efforts funded by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.  His previous research also allows him to provide helpful suggestions on childhood obesity specific data issues, eg. data domains and elements, database structures, data documentation, web-based interfaces, system architecture, and data exchange and sharing protocols.
