Courtney joined the Global Obesity Prevention Center (GOPC) in August 2016, after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with an undergraduate degree in Global Studies with a concentration in Health and Environment in Latin America and minors in Medical Anthropology and Geography.

She began working at the GOPC as a data collector and research assistant with the B’more Health Communities for Kids (BHCK) project. Courtney has also worked on OPREVENT as well as the health department’s Baltimarket project. Her role in both studies included data collection, data entry and transcription. Courtney’s interests include social justice, healthcare equality for marginalized populations and community-based research.
