Mary is currently a junior undergraduate student majoring in Public Health Studies at Johns Hopkins University. On campus, she is a Coordinator for Food as Medicine, a student-run service group devoted to improving the nutritional health of middle school students at Baltimore City Public Schools. Mary is also an Editor of The Triple Helix, a global undergraduate research forum that explores the dynamic intersection of science and society.
At the Global Obesity Prevention Center (GOPC), Mary assisted with the B'more Healthy Communities for Kids (BHCK) Project led by Dr. Joel Gittelsohn, a multi-level, systems-based child obesity prevention research trial focusing on improving the accessibility and affordability of healthy foods in low-income, minority neighborhoods in Baltimore City. Her research interests include the role of socioeconomic factors in health disparities and child nutritional health. Mary is a pre-med student aspiring to be a pediatrician.
