Shruti recently received her MD from Ross University School of Medicine. She found an interest in the B’more Healthy Communities for Kids (BHCK) project, a multilevel, multicomponent childhood obesity prevention trial which aims to improve access, demand, and consumption of healthier foods in low income neighborhoods in Baltimore city as it tailors to childhood obesity.
As a future pediatrician, she aspires to decrease the childhood obesity in the community. Her role in BHCK was a data collector where she directly interacted with families of Baltimore. After completion of the project, she continued to work with the GOPC for the SIP project. Her role in the SIP project was to assess the different food environments of children in Baltimore.
