Sheryl Siegmund is the Director of Operations for the Global Obesity Prevention Center (GOPC) and a Research Associate II in the Department of International Health.  She joined the GOPC in 2012 as the Center Manager where she oversaw all matters concerning communications, human resources, sponsored activity, contracts, development and finance. 

In 2017, Ms. Siegmund transitioned to the Director of Operations role where she assists with setting the strategy and direction of the GOPC.  Currently, Ms. Siegmund ensures that proper practices are being met, oversees GOPC research-related activities including project management and program development and works closely with the different scientific teams including internal and external collaborators.  Ms. Siegmund is also responsible for the day-to-day decisions and activities that take place in the center including the employment and supervision of GOPC personnel, oversight of GOPC finances, partner/collaboration development and communications.     

Sheryl Siegmund received her BS in Psychology from Towson University and completed her MS in Clinical Community Counseling at Johns Hopkins University School of Education. After completing her MS degree, she earned her License as a Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in 2009.

Prior to her work with the GOPC, Sheryl has seven years of experience working with the Division of Nephrology in the Department of Medicine at Johns Hopkins where she managed all activities related to pre and post-award activity.  She was the point person for over twenty transplant PI’s, including the Vice Chairman of Research.
